It is extremely fast, low action and sweet. The body is a refinished 1997 Fender. The neck is a SMOOTH fresh SATIN finished AAA Warmoth neck. This 'C' shaped standard thin ALL Maple 22 fret neck has a satin nitro"vintage style" finish and rolled edges with a 10-16" compound radius and medium 6105 Dunlop frets. It is the Warmoth "Pro" neck which is valued at over $300. Stratocaster Bridge with USA spacing. The low-friction grooved saddles glide freely so your strings always return to pitch eliminating string kink. Adjustable on four axis for PRECISE INTONATION adjustment, these saddles work extremely well to properly transfer sound as well as eliminate string breakage at the saddle. AND Yes--tuning stability is drastically improved. The neck is a Brand New AAA Warmoth "Pro" model and has a slim feel with a width of 1 5/8 inches at the nut. Jut beautiful! In terms of quality, convenience and long term serviceability there is no finer neck on the market. The seasonal adjustments needed by most vintage necks are minimized with the Pro design. The side adjusting truss rod makes set-up and adjustment more convenient. Pro construction in this neck features the Gotoh side adjustment mechanism. Inserted between the usual truss rod adjustment nut at the heel and the truss rod, this ingenious device uses inclines and wedges to adjust the rod tension. Initial set-up is still accomplished at the traditional butt end but future small adjustments are then conveniently done on the side of the neck. The compound radius playing surface is very comfortable. Warmoth pioneered the concept of a conical playing surface. The idea was to keep the lower registers of the fingerboard with a rounder feel, more comfortable for chording and rhythm playing but at the same time to flatten the high registers for easier string bending beginning with a 10 inch radius at the string nut to a 16 inch radius at the 22nd fret. This compound radius isn't something that feels readily apparent to the playing hand in any noticeable way other than the fact that it is very comfortable to play on. With a Haywire professional set-up already completed on this guitar, this neck plays exceptionally well. It wasn't that many years ago when all Fender necks featured only 21 frets. Warmoth was in the forefront with these original conversion necks…offering a replacement neck requiring no body modifications but yet offering an additional 22nd fret. In short, you'll love this neck. It has lot's of sustain. It has a great feel for your fingers and/or slide playing. The resonance is great and so is the tone. The finish on the fretboard was done with several coats of Nitro that will protect it, make it faster with a natural wood feel warm in tone. There is one day of use on these new frets. This Haywire Custom Shop Special... .. is a solid ALDER tri-color "Tobacco Sunburst" and is very funky! It is a "live" sounding body soaked with warm tone. We've had several requests for this medium-weight style body to help when you're playing all night. It's easier on the back and shoulder muscles. The pick-guard is a HEAVY Three ply-White. The control pots, switches, and jacks are new with **ALL NEW Hardware**. The pick ups are standard stock. The bridge is tight for "in tune" playing for string bending players who want the strings to come back in tune after bending notes. Installed are **NEW** Schaller style tuners-- they are very fine quality tuners, accurate and precise. *New* String trees for a smooth path to the nut for more accurate tuning as well. All of the rest of the hardware and the pick-up screws, pick guard screws, neck bolts and plate, strap knobs and switch and pick up height adjusting screws are all **NEW**. The neck Pocket was deepened slightly to achieve even lower action. This guitar is set up, intonated perfectly so any note or chord is in tune anywhere on the neck. The FRETS have a great feel and are newly leveled, massaged and polished. This guitar has been played and thoroughly tested. The neck feels just right and GIG-READY. You can't get the same set-up when you buy off the rack in a music store, this is **Custom**.
